The Contest: The parent will place the baby in the center of a marked circle. At the starter’s signal the parent runs to the outside of the circle and calls the baby. Only one parent can call the baby and must stay outside of the circle at all times. Rattles or other items can be used to attract the attention of the baby, but no whistles or other noise makers are allowed. The baby that crosses the outside circle first will be declared the winner.
Entry Requirements: The baby must be 13 months and under and crawling. A child that toddles during the derby is to be congratulated but will be disqualified.
Registration: Pre-registration is required.
Prizes: A Sash will be awarded to the Grand Prize winner, and toys will be awarded to all top finishers of each heat.
Fair Admission: Parents will be admitted into the Fairgrounds without charge after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the main gate only.
Judges rulings at the time of the contest are final no exceptions.
